Softball Broadcast Network Launched

CASA GRANDE AZ -- Softball Institute today announced the launch of the Internet portal Softball Broadcast Network (SBN), a user-generated video search and on-demand viewing/video sharing channel. SBN features video content on just about every topic of interest to the amateur softball athlete - including men and women of all age groups and skill levels.
"Our value proposition is to create a compelling Internet destination where amateur softball athletes can view what's going on with other players, teams, and leagues from around the country, as well as hone their skills by viewing instructional videos," said Martin Diano, Managing Group Publisher. "We'll also accept videos for possible posting in one of several featured playlists."
To keep its video library fresh, SBN searches for videos across multiple user generated video sites, then - approximately every 10 days -adds the most entertaining and significant videos available. A channel playlist categorizes the collection by topic, including: instructional videos, game highlights, softball humor, and videos that just celebrate the game of softball.
"We see the impact of engaged video viewers wanting and searching for content-specific information as a significant business opportunity. The goal of SBN is to become the leading curator to sort out and categorize the huge volume of videos on the web," said Diano. "The role of video curator is becoming just as important as that of creator. There's lots of great material out there; but there's also a lot of junk. Now softball athletes, coaches, and fans of the game can search, view and share some of the most popular softball videos on the Internet."
SBN is a an initiative of the Softball Institute (SI), a content provider focused on the finer points of the game of softball. SI publishes Library of Softball, a custom softball search engine, and publishes two demographic-specific blogs: National Forum of Girls' Fastpitch Softball and National Senior Softball Forum. SI's plans call for curating separate video sites on baseball, golf and tennis beginning in spring 2008.
